March 2005

March 12 - 13 - Chevy Vette Fest

The Chevy/Vette Fest gathers together the nation's finest show-class Corvettes and classic Chevrolets under the capacious roof of Chicago's McCormick Place. These cars occupy a special place in the hearts of many American auto-lovers, and when you seen the gleaming chrome and candy-apple paint jobs on display here, it's not hard to see why. Boasting the country's largest indoor swap meet, the event offers the classic-car enthusiast and weekend grease monkey a huge selection of parts, accessories and reproductions. For many visitors, however, the fun comes in simply ogling some of the finest slabs of motorized cheesecake ever produced by the good people of Detroit.

April 21 - 32 - NCM C5/C6 Bash

Whether you have made the bash a part of your regularly attended shows each year or if you have never attended an NCM event before, you will want to be a part of the Eighth Annual C5/C6 Bash April 21-23! This year's bash is the first event of the season held at the Museum and the activities planned are everything you want in a Corvette event!

May 2005

May 1 - 2nd Annual R.A.C.E. Show and Shine

Show & Shine (Details to follow but last year we started at The Hanger near the Rochester Airport and then drove to The Branding Iron in Preston for dinner

May 7 - Corvette Scavenger Hunt and Car Show Hutchinson, MN

1st Annual Corvette scavenger hunt and car show by Hutchinson area Corvettes. 11:00 am-12:00pm registration 12:00-4:00pm scavenger hunt, 4:00-6:00pm car show. Trophys for all classes, c1 thru c6. a digital camera will improve your chances to win more prizes and cash. Scavenger hunt will be based out of Searles bar and grill, Searles, MN.

May 12 - Drivers School at Brainerd International Raceway

Suburban Corvettes will be hosting a Driver School and Practice Day at Brainerd International Raceway on Thursday May 12th. The cost last year was $135 for SCCM members and $150 for everyone else. If you want to drive your car at high speed without the worry of red lights in your rearview mirror, this event is for you. Novices and beginners get a chance to learn how their car handles. There will be a short classroom session, braking exercises, and then experienced drivers will ride with you to teach you the track and some tricks of driving it properly. All types of performance cars are welcomed. Experienced drivers will get a lot of track time. For more information, contact Mike Miller at 651-633-7845

May 20-22 - Corvettes do Brainerd at BIR Brainerd, MN

NCCC Sanctioned Event - Racing - Grudge Matches - featuring, high speed and low speed events with grudge match drag racing. Our famous Trackside Parties take place on Fri and Sat after the day's events are completed. Everyone is welcome.

May 23 - 30 - R.A.C.E. Roadtrip to Bowling Green to attend Corvette Forum's Cruise-In VI

We will enjoy a beautiful 2 day caravan down to Bowling Green to attend the Corvette Forum's Cruise-In VI. While there we will visit the Corvette Museum as well as tour the assembly line at the GM plant, along with other event activites.

June 2005

June 6 - Drive and Dine to Oar d'oeuvre in Redwing

Details to follow but we will take a scenic drive from Rochester to Red Wing, where we will be the guests of Dave and Marie Mikel at their restaraunt - Oar d'oeuvre. Dave and Marie are also the owners of a beautiful red C5.

June 9 - 12 - Corvettes on the Isthmas

Corvettes on the Isthmus began entertaining Corvette enthusiasts in 2001. The idea for the show was created out of the love of the car, and the knowledge that Wisconsin offers great scenery, friendly people, and a lot to do. Several volunteers continue to help make our show a success by providing their help and support. Two local Corvette clubs helped with much of the entertainment for the event including the road tours and the Driving Experience.

June 12 - Plastic Fantastic 19th Annual All Corvette Car Show

Open to all Corvette Owners. Hosted by the Suburban Corvettes of Minnesota. Dash plaques to first 100 registrants. Door prizes and raffle. This is a non-judged class with awards being presented based on the combined ballots of show participants and the general public. Pre reg by May 25th $10.00, Gate $12.00, Spectators $2.00. Reg includes driver and passenger. This is a people's choice award show with trophies, door prizes, dj, and loads of fun!

June 23 - 26 - Bloomington Gold

The four-day event showcases the best in the Corvette hobby, from the spectacular Special Collection to the exhilarating GoldTour and, of course, the heart of Bloomington Gold, the esteemed Gold Certification® judging.

Bloomington Gold will be taking place at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois. St. Charles is west of ChicagoLand in Northern Illinois.

June 24 · Drive your Corvette to work day

An annual event that started as part of a countdown to the 50th birthday celebrations. It is held on the Friday closest to June 30th - the Corvette's Birthday. It is sponsored by Mid America Motorworks.

June 26 - Geneva MN 150 Birthday Parade

June 26 - Corvettes on the Green

Minnesota's largest judged all Corvette show. Gates Open and Tech Inspection begins at 8:00am. Reg closes at 11:00am. Special trophies at 1:00pm. Entrance to For Sale lot $6.00 plus gate admission. Gate Admission $4.00. Reg for judged classes $15.00 per car (includes gate admission for up to 2 persons.) Trophies for all classes, food and beverages available. Dash Plaques to the first 150 registered Corvettes.

July 14 -16 - Black Hills Corvette Classic Sioux Falls, SD

Join hundreds of Corvettes and thousands of Corvette enthusiasts from all over the United States and Canada for the four day celebration in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. The event starts in Sioux Falls with "Hot Summer Nights", on Wednesday and continues on Thursday with one of the "Worlds Longest and Largest Corvette Caravans" to Spearfish, SD.

July 23 - 29 - N.C.C.C.Convention St. Cloud, MN

This year is the 46th annual NCCC Convention and it is being held in St. Cloud, MN. Events include a rallye, concours and car show, funkhana, low speed autocross, high speed autocross, drags and (of course) lots of parties.

July 28 - 31 - Vettes on the Rockies Majestic Summit County, CO

Looking Glass Corvette Association and Purifoy Chevrolet welcome you to beautiful Summit County, Colorado for the 32nd annual Vettes on the Rockies! This is the premier Corvette event in Colorado and is has a rich history as a great time to enjoy your cars in the incredible Rocky Mountains.

July 29 -31 - The Island Corvette Show @ Treasure Island Casino in Red Wing, MN

The Island Corvette Show will be held at Treasure Island Casino near Red Wing on July 29 - 31. Registration cost is $10 per corvette.

Corvette's, Classic's & Street Rods. Awards at 2:30pm. 5 classes. Entry $10.00. There will be 2 - 1st place People's Choice receiving trophies. Vendor and swap space available. Cars For Sale welcome.

August 27 - 29 · Corvettes at Carlisle 2005

Corvettes at Carlisle 2005 will feature a C4 and up Corvette Racer and Race Car Reunion, including the famous Corvette Challenge cars, and a 1955 Corvette Reunion. The finished C6 project car undertaken by Lance Miller will be on display as well. The 2005 Chip's Choice will be dedicated to parent-child relationships with numerous wonderful bonding experiences or memories shared through their Corvettes.

September 2005

September 1 - 4 · Corvette Museum's 11th annual Corvette Celebration

The 11th Anniversary of the National Corvette Museum September 1-4, 2005, will build on Labor Day 2004 and remain a “member only” event. Everyone registering for the Anniversary Celebration will be either an existing member or become one as part of the registration process thus continuing the Celebration as a member-driven event which unites friends, family and enthusiasts for a look back on the Museum’s history and future! Those registered for the event can enjoy four days of displays, road tours, special video presentations, raffles, and more during this event in honor of your help and support! The event will also include the “Corvette Hall of Fame” induction ceremony and banquet where we will induct three new members, Randy Wittine, Don Yenko, and Chip Miller, into the prestigious and elite group of recipients who have made a significant contribution to Corvette history.

September 15 - Brainerd Int'l Raceway Driver School and Practice Days

Sep 16 -18 - Mid-America Fun Fest Effingham, IL

Corvette Funfest 2004, Mid America Motorworks' annual "customer appreciation party" shattered all previous participation records. 2005's three-day Funfest drew 10,692 Corvettes of every year and color. Attendance was estimated at 45,000 people. The previous records, set at 2003's Funfest were 8,200 Corvettes and an estimated 35,000 people.

September 24 - 2nd Annual R.A.C.E. Fall Picnic

We will again have a cruise to enjoy the fall colors, leaving Rochester around 10 am, followed by a picnic pot luck lunch at Forrestville State Park. More details to follow

October 2005

October 7 - 9: – The La Crosse Fall Color Run

The La Crosse Fall Color Run is an annual event which is organized by Suburban Corvette Club of Minnesota and is held in La Crosse , Wisconsin in the month of October.  It is open to anyone who owns a Corvette.. On Friday night at La Crosse participants gather at the main meeting location and enjoy,  beer,  pop, and appetizers which are free to those who register for the event.  DJ Music is provided.

On Saturday morning the Corvettes gather at the park in Onalaska.  The Corvettes cruise through the scenic countryside and stop for a lunch along the way.  After the lunch the cruise continues and ends up back in La Crosse. On Saturday night a dinner banquet is held for those who had purchased a banquet ticket.  After the meal more pop and beer are available to registrants of the event.  More DJ music is provided.

On Sunday morning those participants who had opted to purchase the Sunday brunch ticket gather for the short cruise to Arizona 's Golf for the Sunday brunch.  There always is a good variety of breakfast food available and the desserts are delicious

November 19 - 20 - Chevy Vette Fest McCormick Place Chicago, IL
